That IS funny
http://blog.wired.com/27bstroke6/2009/02/piratebaywednes.html
"He testified Pirate Bay was the root of the industry's financial woes."
Um, yeah, it has nothing to do with the shit that's out there at all. Nothing at all. Let me think of the last few albums I have downloaded:
Green Day - Best of - $3 DRM free
Metallica - Death Magnetic - $5 DRM free (Death to Napster, huh guys?!?)
Audioslave - We Got the Whip - DRM free, free (Pepsi Points)
David Bowie - I'm Afraid of Americans - DRM free, free (Pepsi Points)
ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man - DRM free, free (Pepsi Points)
Beethoven - 99 Most Essential - $2 DRM free, and yes it is 99 tracks
Marvin Gaye - Let's Get It On - DRM free, free for Valentine's Day
Nine Inch Nails - Ghosts I-IV - DRM free, $10
Nine Inch Nails - The Slip - DRM free, free (I didn't pay a donation, because I had paid for Ghosts and didn't like it much)
So, I think Green Day is the "newest" band on there - 1987, but really hit the scene in 1994. I'm not counting Audioslave, because that is a conglomeration of older bands.

Awesome video
I don't recognize the "band" but I guess they are like what we had at Chuck-E-Cheese.
Don't miss the "High Quality" option, lower right.

'YouTube - Escape From City 17 - Part One'
WOW. These dudes did this on a budget of $500!?!? This is just amazing. If you're not familiar with Half-Life2 you may not get all the references or the sound effects, but it is still pretty damned impressive.

My favorite new Firefox plugin
Somebody mentioned this at work and I had to check it out.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5761
It randomly snapshots any "text area" on a web page and remembers what you typed. So if you were working on a big blog post, answering some question on a web site, etc, and you accidentally navigate away, the computer crashes, whatever, you won't lose it ALL. A "text area" in HTML is anything more than a single line entry field.

A Sad Experiment
I cleared my Spam folder yesterday at 13:57:30 according to my watch.
It's now 13:57:30. 489 messages. Yes folks, that's ~20/hr, or 1 every 3 minutes for 24 hours.
Obviously, they're not that consistent - many more during the afternoon and around two in the morning.
13 came in since I cleared it and started typing this message and pulling up Calc. Ugh.
That's why I don't like people forwarding my personal email to anybody.
PS. Anybody who would actually buy a pill from a random email and put it in their body deserves whatever they get. Same for losing your house to a mortgage scam or paying somebody in Nigeria with money orders. (now 15)

Cash4Gold scammy?!? Surely you jest!
It amazes me that these morons were able to afford a SB commercial. Which just shows how dumb their customers must be for them to rake it in so much.
